Dr Alan Nigel Pitchford was recently appointed chairman of the Osteopathic Association of South Africa.
Nigel gained his honours degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine (UK), in 2002, and was subsequently admitted to the register of the General Osteopathic Council(UK) in 2003.
He was an associate in group practice in Surrey for two years and established a practice in Wimbledon, London. Upon arrival in South Africa in 2006 he setup practice in Scottburgh, and shortly after this opened rooms in Umhlanga. He currently practises in both Westville and Scottburgh, in Kwa Zulu-Natal.
Nigel is registered with the 'Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa' as an Osteopath, and with the 'Health and Care Professions Council UK' as an Operating Department Practitioner.
As a member of 'Pain SA' he assists with pain team clinics at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital (IALCH), Durban, South Africa. "
